Luca Tedde was born in Cagliari in 1976. He always loved drawing, even as a child. During one of his first trips, he was fascinated by the "street portraitists" and not having had an artistic education, he decided to devote himself as a self-taught to the study of drawing and portrait through a demanding path of practice and observation.
He has been working with graphite and charcoal for more than 20 years, trying to get the most realistic results possible. Before discovering soft pastels, his portfolio consisted mainly of portraits in graphite and charcoal, one of which was published in the "Amazing Pencil Portraits 2" collection by Platte Productions Publishing (USA), and he counted numerous private commissions received from different parts of the world.
In the last 10 years he has participated in collective exhibitions and artistic events, receiving prizes and awards for portraits in chiaroscuro. More recently, he began to learn the technique of soft pastels, a painting born in France at the end of the fifteenth century and developed in the following centuries thanks to artists such as Rosalba Carriera, Maurice Quentin de La Tour and Edgar Degas. Creating works with soft pastels, he has achieved international recognition in recent years: in the "First International Pastel Show in Italy" in 2017, in the 13th International ARC SALON of the Art Renewal Center, in the International Award of Art Marchionni and American Art Awards in 2018.
